What is SEO?


SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is all about optimizing a website for search engines.SEO is a technique for:
  • designing and developing a website to rank well in search engine results.
  • improving the volume and quality of traffic to a website from search engines.      
Search Engine Optimization or Optimization is divided into types:
  1. On-Page Optimization
  2. Off-Page Optimization      

1.On-Page Optimization:It mostly depends upon the coding part of the web page.In On-Page Optimization we've to work on Meta Tag Optimization,URL Structure,Internal Linking,Heading Optimization,Proper Keyword Placement & keyword density.
                   
2.Off-Page Optimization:In generally it tells as external link outsourcing towards the web page to get rank higher in search engines.Basically it refers to link building & link-exchanging techniques.

SEO techniques are broadly classified into two categories:

  • White Hat SEO
  •  Black Hat SEO


White Hat SEO:This technique is completely legal and completely follows search engine rules and policies.

White Hat SEO technique must be obey the following conditions:

  1. It confirms to the search engine's recommendations.
  2. It ensures that the content material a seek engine indexes, and sooner or later ranks, is the same content a user will see.
  3. It ensures that a web page content should were created for the users and now not just for the serps.
  4. It ensures exact quality of the web pages. 
  5. It guarantees availability of beneficial content on the internet pages. 
Black Hat SEO:This technique is illelegal and usually does not obey search engine rules and policies.

which technique have the following conditions known as Black Hat SEO:

  1. Attempting ranking improvements that are disapproved by the search engines.
  2. Redirecting users from a page that is built for search engines to one that is more human friendly.
  3. Redirecting users to a page that was different from the page the search engine ranked.
  4. Serving one version of a page to search engine spiders/bots and another version to human visitors. 
  5. Using hidden or invisible text or with the page background color, using a tiny font size or hiding them within the HTML code such as "no frame" sections.
  6. Repeating keywords in the metatags, and using keywords that are unrelated to the website content. This is known as  meta tag stuffing.
  7. Calculated placement of keywords within a page to raise the keyword count, variety, and density of the page. This is is known as keyword stuffing.
  8. Creating low-quality web pages that contain very little content but are instead stuffed with very similar keywords and phrases.
  9. Mirror websites by hosting multiple websites - all with conceptually similar content but using different URLs.
  10. Creating a rogue copy of a popular website which shows contents similar to the original to a web crawler, but redirects web surfers to unrelated or malicious websites. This is known as page hijacking.

Always stay away from this type of black hat methods.Because search engine's algorithims & bots are very smart to indentify these above stated properties.You may be banned or penalyzed for using this type techniques.So,always stay away fro this type of techniques.
